Greg Pence Applauds Permanent Repeal of Medical Device Tax
Washington D.C. - U.S. Congressman Greg Pence (IN-06) released a statement today following the repeal of the Medical Device Tax, included in the federal funding package passed in the House.
“Today is a victory for the thousands of Hoosiers employed by the Medical Device industry. The repeal of the innovation-killing Medical Device tax means more jobs and economic development for Hoosiers,” said Congressman Pence. “The medical device industry has been hamstrung by the year-to-year watch on whether or not they would be hit with a tax. With the permanent repeal of this tax, there is now certainty for one of the biggest employers in the state.”
Pence stood up for Hoosiers and urged his colleagues on the House floor to repeal the Medical Device Tax earlier this Congress. Additionally, in a letter to House Leadership, Pence urged the repeal of the job-killing tax imposed on the hundreds of thousands of Americans, including over 20,000 Hoosiers, employed by the medical device industry.
The repeal of this tax was included in one of two funding packages, House Amendment to Senate Amendment to H.R. 1865.
Congressman Greg Pence represents Indiana’s 6th District. From Columbus, Indiana, Pence advocates for conservative Hoosier values as a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee.
